The Alphabet Rides

Arnside to Berwick on Tweed

215 Miles

( Or Three Bikes in Two Days)

Well another year has rolled by, the Multiday men completed the Big One Lands End to John o Groats, so the big decision after last year was what next.

We mulled about international trips, The National byway etc etc. One day when Graeme and I  were out on a day trip from his home in Kendal when we came up with the idea of the Alphabet rides. Arnside is one of our favourite places to cycle to when I visit Kendal following Sustrans routes.  Arnside is a pretty village on the shores of Morecambe bay.

So the decision was made we will cycle A to B , C to D you get the drift approx 15 years of rides, so you may see a 67 yr old cycling into Zennor in Cornwall one day mmmmm we’ll see.

This years ride turned out to be very very tough. With steep hills and the  wind in our faces all the way, plus many other obstacles we encountered. We all pulled through in our usual  Multidaymen style.

So  the planning was done the logistics put in place and the bikes serviced (mmmmmmmmmm) more on that later.
